At a glance, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) is the key and leading national university in human resource training and scientific research in agriculture and rural development, and is becoming more diversified in its fields of study with an ever-increasing prestige among the higher education system of Vietnam. Situated on a campus of nearly 200 ha, the university has a system of modern lecture halls, experimental and practical facilities, spacious dormitories, a modern library system, a large gymnastic and sports complex, and many other teachings, learning and research facilities.

VNUA dates back to the founding of the University of Agriculture and Forestry on October 12, 1956. The university has long been recognized as one of 19 key national universities and the leading university among the universities of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in the country. The university is continually striving to be an autonomous, multi-disciplinary, and multi-campus institution; a major national, regional research university that emphasizes excellence in innovation and development of human resources and academic research, while developing new technology and disseminating them into the agriculture and rural sector of Vietnam. The mission of VNUA is to educate and supply high-quality graduates, while continuing excellence in research, developing new technology and providing the knowledge needed for the agriculture and rural sector within Vietnam and the international communities.
