Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) is a development of the Institute of Teacher Training and Education (Teachers’ Training College) Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, a development institution of Higher Education Guidance and Counseling Branch of Muhammadiyah established in 1960. The Institute and was changed into a university in 1994. UAD is located in Yogyakarta, a special district in the southern part of Central Java renowned as a center of education and classical Javanese fine art and culture. UAD received the highest level of accreditation of UNGGUL (EXCELLENT) from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education. Located in six campuses, UAD offers 38 Bachelor Programs, 15 Master Programs, 1 doctoral program, 3 profession programs, and 1 vocational program. At present, UAD has 731 teaching staffs, 480 administrative staffs, a total number of 27,000 students and more than 200 foreign students currently studying on a short- and long-term basis. Since its establishment, the university has sustained a strong tradition of academic integrity and gained an excellent reputation for its educational programs, research and student’s services. UAD offers community service programs from which students can draw authentic experience as well as invaluable insights into Indonesian traditional culture of local communities. In addition, foreign students come to UAD to enroll for short and long courses, such as Indonesian language and Culture Study, Joint Degree Program, one year or one semester Credit Transfer Program, Cultural Camp Program, BIPA Course Program, Sea-Teacher and Sea-TVET Program, international community service program, and many others.
