Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta, or Indonesia Institute of the Arts, Surakarta, is a public arts higher education institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC), Indonesia. Its commitment, dedication, and loyalty have driven ISI Surakarta to reach its present excellence in the world of conservation and development of the arts.

It started its first phase as Akademi Seni Karawitan Indonesia (ASKI) in 1964, its second phase as Sekolah Tinggi Seni Indonesia (STSI) Surakarta in 1988, and its present phase as Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta since 2006. These evolutionary phases and achievements are supported by internal resources and cooperation with partners. ISI Surakarta holds a serious commitment to improving the quality of education, research, arts and community services.
