Welcome to the AIMS Family!!!

The first ever AIMS Virtual Regional Orientation 2022, Go Asia, Go AIMS! was successfully held on Saturday, 24th September 2022 to welcome new AIMS students from across the region to the AIMS Programme.

The orientation engaged more than 200 new AIMS students to be ready for an AIMS exchange, learn more about their destination country, and expand their network among students and alumni. The programme also highlighted AIMS Programme’s slogan: “Exploring Asia, Embracing Diversity” and three AIMS Student Characteristics, which are Self-Competence, Intercultural Competency, and Regional and Global Awareness.

“We come from different backgrounds and cultures, we may have different ideas towards things and have our own different opinions, but nobody is more right than others, we are just different. It is the most important thing when you are living abroad as you get to learn how you understand other people’s perspectives.” – Asst. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont, Centre Director of SEAMEO RIHED.

At the Country Booths during the Expo Session, AIMS freshers learned more about their destination country and mobility experiences from more than 30 AIMS Alumni and fellow students. The session was informative and provided encouragement and motivation for AIMS freshers going on the exchange.

The 1st AIMS Virtual Regional Orientation would not be possible without the support from AIMS Alumni, Country Coordinators and Task Force Members. Thank you!

More orientation programmes in the upcoming academic semesters will be organised for AIMS students to be prepared to maximise their learning and opportunities and stay connected as a region.
