Central Mindanao University (CMU) is a state university with quadrate functions: instruction, research, extension and production. It is a Level IV state university as per CHED assessment and a Center of Excellence (COE) for Agriculture, Forestry, Biology, and Veterinary Medicine education. It is a Center of Development (COD) for Mathematics and Education. CMU also offer programs in Engineering, Nursing, Human Ecology, Arts and Sciences, and Business Management. These curricular programs are accredited by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). CMU has always been very active in international mobilization. In fact, CMU is one of the members of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) under the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme. Since 2015, CMU has sent outbound students to Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand, Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai, Thailand, Bogor Agricultural University (BAU) in Indonesia, and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in Malaysia. CMU is also a member of the University Mobility in the Asia Pacific (UMAP) and is currently working on mobilization under this program. As one of the leading universities in the country, CMU seeks to shine in the global community and strengthen its internationalization.

Accommodation & Facilities
Sunrise Residence Hall is an on-campus accommodation, with shared rooms (2 persons per room), furnished with air conditioner, refrigerator, bed, cabinet, and comfort room.
The university also includes the following facilities:
Libraries, sports area, swimming pool, laboratories, cafeteria, commercial complex, ATMs, coffee shop, University Hospital, training centre, and museum.
